Introduction of LN2000 Distributed Control System (DCS)
LN2000 Distributed Control System is a brainstorm project for SEPCO, which was satisfactorily completed under the care of the Group leaders and careful organization of the leading crew of the brainstorm project as well as persistent endeavors for three years. This project passed the expert appraisal organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province on July 28th, 2003. The expert conclusion deems that the comprehensive technical indexes of LN2000 have reached the advanced world level. LN2000 was also awarded the Prize of Science and Technology Progress by SEPCO.
LN2000 DCS is characterized by its reasonable system structure, advanced technology, high stability and reliability, and good technical indexes equal to or even exceeding the similar domestic products. The Company has also possessed the independent intellectual property right of LN2000 DCS.
LN2000 DCS integrates computer, network, control and field bus technology, with open structure and distributed I/O modules, friendly HMI, flexible control configuration and other powerful software functions, which cover MCS, SCS, BMS, ETS, ECS and DAS of turbine, boiler, electrical equipment and auxiliaries, especially suitable for power plant control of all kinds of units, and available for automatic control of normal industrial process as well.

Creation of LN2000 Distributed Control System
· Double redundant control networks can operate simultaneously, assuring undisturbed changerover between networks.
· Redundant structure is used for Field Bus, assuring system high reliability.
· Data broadcasting adopts independently created technology, realizing balanced control of network data flow and avoiding bottleneck effect.
· Back-up of process station is carried out by two redundant networks, avoiding disadvantages of a single back-up by a third network or by parallel cables.
· Control module adopts independently created and scientific automatic sorting algorithm, conquering the disadvantages of disturbed control sequence due to configuration sequential sorting.
· Progress level supervision is realized between abundant control stations with high reliability, thus solving the problem that DCS is occasionally locked up.
· New compaction technology is adopted, realizing that real-time database equals to historical database, and bumpless connection between real-time trend and historical trend.
· Control station adopts low power consuming CPU, no fan needed, which greatly prolongs its service life and improves its stability.
· Low power consuming components are used for intellectual I/O units. Its modular structure package can reduce dust corrosion and overcome the defects of plug-in card.
· Cold end temperature compensation and linearization are automatically realized inside the intellectual thermocouple module. Zero point and gain can be automatically adjusted, avoiding zero drift.
Application of LN2000 distributed control system
The first application for unit DCS modification
It is the first time that LN2000 DCS was applied in main control system when DCS modification of unit 3 of Shiliquan Power Plant was achieved and this unit was successfully synchronized on December 27th, 2002. Its functions cover MCS, SCS, BMS, ECS and DAS of turbine, boiler, electrical equipment and auxiliaries. With its high degree of automation, one operator on one shift for stationwide monitoring was realized.
The first application in new unit’s DCS
The 72+24 hours full load test run for Unit 4 of Yunhe Power Plant extension project was satisfactorily completed at 7:17, February 17th, 2004. And 100% of DAS, 100% protection system and 100% of automatic control in service were achieved in the control system of 135MW unit and the associated largest CFB combustion boiler, setting a new record for similar domestic units.
Currently, LN2000 DCS has been widely used in the main and peripheral control systems of power plant units. Since the first application in DCS modification of unit 3 (135MW) of Shiliquan Power Plant in December, 2002, 22 sets of LN2000 DCS have been successfully used in main control systems for 300MW units and below, and 30 sets of LN2000 DCS as auxiliary control systems for 600MW units and below.
